Stevie is the CEO of SVX México, an impact investing advisory firm based in Mexico City, where she is primarily responsible for firm strategy and institutional relations. Stevie has worked with entrepreneurs in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the US for more than 10 years in various sectors and specializes in maximizing the use of venture philanthropy to catalyze markets, blended finance structures for investments, and gender lens investing. Stevie Smyth, comes from 4 years’ experience implementing gender lens investing, venture philanthropy, market development, and impact investing practices at the United Nations Foundation’s Clean Cooking Alliance, where she oversaw due diligence, capacity building support, and reporting for the Alliance’s venture philanthropy portfolio that went on to raise more than 12 million USD in investment. Each part of the funding process included a gender lens and was featured in various publications as best practice. She has spoken about the Alliance’s gender work at various conferences such as Convergence (past conference of the Criterion Institute), High Water Women, and she is a co-author or contributor to various publications on gender lens investing, social impact measurement, and women’s entrepreneurship.
