I was responsible for providing leadership to the Bank through developing overall country strategy and direction, balancing governance, financial management, customer and franchise management and people development.During my tenure the Bank continued to grow its network and performed exceptionally well on many fronts.I also successfully grew the Bank’s franchise transforming financial performance - delivering exceptional results as the Bank’s ranking in SCB global network increased from 27th to 7th overall in terms of trading profit.

I was responsible for the Markets' business governance, strategy and performance. During my tenure the business grew significantly and was the core contributor to the Bank’s performance in the country. I repositioned the business, in particular expanding the capabilities beyond FX & MM. The Global Markets trading profit quadrupled in four years and we achieved the lead market position with FX market share of 20%+. Numerous of my key hires have progressed to leadership positions with other banks in the market.

I led the Markets' business governance, strategy and performance.The Mekong region included Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos and the tenure also included a four month stint as the Acting Head of Global Markets in South Korea.

As part of my role, I was responsible for governance, strategy and performance for the Global Markets client business. I repositioned the client business to make up over 60% of the total Global Markets revenue. The client desk expanded from from 2 to 12 people, client volume increased on a multiple basis and new products and capabilities were introduced including a successful research function.

I was responsible for global margin trading business in London. My clients were principally wealthy individuals and investment institutions trading spot FX and currency options.I built the business through improved product capabilities and execution, value added services such as research, and improved relationships through greater understanding of client needs.

As the Chief Administrative Officer, I was responsible for the day-to-day management issues of Global Treasury, reporting directly to the Bank's Treasurer. The role covered business, credit, systems, operational, financial and general issues on both a global and local level.

I was responsible for Global Business Assurance reviews, which are reviews of a Bank's operations on a global scale. The objectives of such reviews were to provide the Bank's executive management with an independent assessment of the adequacy of the Bank's business environment. The purpose was to not only ensure that the business goals and objectives can be achieved, but also to identify whether the operating procedures and systems developed to manage, process and control the business are effective, efficient and economic.
