Having been promoted to Site Manager , I was asked to take the helm at one of the Charles Church developments with homes ranging in price from three hundred thousand to five hundred thousand pounds , a very rewarding task in the fact that the Charles Church homes are much larger and offer a wider variety of finishes . Having taken over the site along with my site team we over achieved the set quota for units that year with an extra 3 units for the year end .February 18: Working as part of a 2 manager site team at one of the companies biggest sites at Heartlands Whitburn overseeing the construction of 117 units ranging from 2-5 bedroom homes. This site has its own challenges including deep excavations , levels between plots , suds basin construction and soil contamination .September 18: I am currently at the helm of a prestigious Charles Church development in East Calder . Comprising of 24 units of 4&5 bedroom homes , I have had the privilege of starting this site off from the compound set up and relishing the challenge that a new site brings .

Working with a leading house builder as an Assistant Site Manager. on traditional and timber kit construction projects.Working with the site manager on a day to day basis running the site and ensuring program deadlines are met . .working with subcontractors to ensure that houses are finished to a high standard..controlling materials on site and ordering materials for upcoming construction..customer satisfaction is paramount ,so meeting with clients to make sure any remedial works are carried out in a timely fashion.I am responsible for the site running when the site manager is on annual leave or on another site

Modular is a company responsible for the ownership and management of several business parks in the South Side of Glasgow. My primary role was to oversee the running of these business parks: • Customer Care - Liaising with tenants to ensure client satisfaction and manage any issues/complaints• Facilities management - organising tradesmen to carry out required remedial works on units. Also held keyholder responsibility for ADT and other secure services.

I elected to join Stewart Milne Homes to gain experience in timber frame construction methods, having spent time at Barratt working with traditional building methods. • Assisting the site manager to run the site effectively including budget cost and control• Liaising with contractors and sub-contractors to ensure that all works were carried out in line with the programme. • Customer care - liaising with clients and tradesmen to carry our repairs and snagging works and to deal with any complaints to ensure satisfaction with owners of all new homes.• Responsible for site when site manager was on annual leave or working on another site.

Having already spent 5 years in the construction industry, I felt the time was right to embark on a new challenge. I’ve always been interested in house –building and the various methods used and felt it was time to learn new skills and really make my mark in the trade. As an assistant site manager for Barratt, my role included: • Assisting the site manager in the daily running of the site.• Responsible for liaising with sub-contractors and obtaining costs for materials and works• Responsible for Customer Care to ensure satisfaction of owners of all new homes Career highlight - I was nominated for Customer Care Manager of the Year 2006 with a customer satisfaction score of 96% in what was only my first year in the house-building trade.

Responsible for various tasks from laying drainage lines to overseeing a squad of men.• Leading a team of at least ten operatives ranging from labourers to skilled tradesmen• Other duties included the monitoring, ordering and distribution of materials and tools on site.• Responsible for the health and safety of the workers under my leadership .• Implementing general safety practice such as the proper use of tools and machinery, and the supply and monitoring of adequate personal protective equipment.
