After graduating from Queens University with an engineering degree, I took my first job with Bell Canada in the Computer Communications Group developing specialized computer applications for computer networks. After a brief break for more study at the University of Toronto and work at a small software/hardware development firm in Mississauga, I returned to Bell to work on electronic mail systems, packet switching networks, and signalling system standards, including leadership positions in Working Group T1S1.3.After taking early retirement from Bell in 2004, I moved to Dundas and got married (first marriage for both of us at 50+). While I did some consulting work, I also became much involved with house renovations and gardening and volunteer work with the Millrace Festival and the Beach Canal Lighthouse Group. When this was not occupying enough of my time, I entered another undergraduate degree, Honours Physics at McMaster University which is keeping me jumping today.
