Test EngineerSolectron Jan 2002 - Sep 2003I was a cornerstone in the facilitation of optimal NPI (New Product Introduction) processes, programs, prototypes and test rigs.Working within the NPI test team gave me the ability to work with an innovative team of engineers who contributed to customers design for test, and made component decisions that allowed greater leverage with regard to cost reductions as well as create production and test solutions using software modelling, and other associated tools to design and build test rigs that would later evolve into a production test platform.My role also involved introduction and qualification of new test equipment and software, steering it through exacting trials and fault injection simulations. Whilst professionally and effectively reporting and communicating results.I was also part of a global team tasked to design and implement a LAN and WAN production test platform, the outcome of which was a proactive, inter-site communication and data sharing system, allowing customers to obtain manufacturing logs and details of their products. Due to the scale of the project, effective communication skills were essential. For my contribution to the project I was rewarded by being nominated for and winning the factory award and recognition for "Outstanding leadership and dedication during the implementation of IT initiatives at the Rosyth facility". -
