By implementing this process, I significantly reduced build times by over 70%. Additionally, I set up a highly visible build traffic light in the office, enabling the team to easily monitor the status of builds.Adoption of Jira as a Kanban Project Management System: Recognizing the need for efficient project management, I led the implementation of Jira across the surface software, firmware, test, and hardware electronics engineering teams in multiple sites. I was responsible for the testing of Veripos Software and was brought in as part of a new internal team of developers and testers that would replace the traditional outsourced software development practice at Veripos. In this role I introduced a Defect tracking and reporting System(redmine), and a Continuous Integration platform (Jenkins), as well as a testcase management system (TestLink).

Promoting disruptive innovation through the in house Invention disclosure system which I have used to submit numerous improvements to projects that I have worked on, resulting in two international patent, and several more that where reviewed by patent committee that although not eligible for patent where implemented as significant improvements on their respective products and devices.

NCR offer a summer placement program for students, I worked within the DTI department working on a Software test tool that was used to test the CEN/XFS interface to NCR components, ranging from pin pads, printers, cash dispenser and collection units, the role involved working within a small team, using c++, COM, C# and XML to further extend/enhance the capabilities of an existing tool.The role was both fulfilling and rewarding, and afforded me the opportunity to work within an AGILE and UML working ethos using rational rose for design and in house data management tools to check in and out software under development.

I was a cornerstone in the facilitation of optimal NPI (New Product Introduction) processes, programs, prototypes and test rigs.Working within the NPI test team gave me the ability to work with an innovative team of engineers who contributed to customers design for test, and made component decisions that allowed greater leverage with regard to cost reductions as well as create production and test solutions using software modelling, and other associated tools to design and build test rigs that would later evolve into a production test platform.My role also involved introduction and qualification of new test equipment and software, steering it through exacting trials and fault injection simulations. Whilst professionally and effectively reporting and communicating results.I was also part of a global team tasked to design and implement a LAN and WAN production test platform, the outcome of which was a proactive, inter-site communication and data sharing system, allowing customers to obtain manufacturing logs and details of their products. Due to the scale of the project, effective communication skills were essential. For my contribution to the project I was rewarded by being nominated for and winning the factory award and recognition for "Outstanding leadership and dedication during the implementation of IT initiatives at the Rosyth facility".

Whilst working for a contract electronic manufacturing firm I develop and enhance a number of skills, at the forefront of these was the ability to adopt a logical rigorous manner during problem analysis and fault finding. I had the opportunity to become multi-disciplined and skilled whilst working on a wide variety of cutting edge and legacy products from a variety of industries including radio frequency, PC mainframe, Telephone exchange, Satellite, printers and Televisions.
