The model was created using an evolutionary approach and documented using Abacus, a configurable semantic Enterprise Architecture modelling tool. I worked within the Architecture team and elicited information from existing documentation and through interviews with stakeholders.My contract was extended a number of times after the Technical Debt project. I was involved in the following projects:CMDB (Configuration Management Data Base) for the Service Desk. I prepared an options analysis and a proposal for the installation of the Manage Engine Client Agent.JadeStar Active Directory Synchronisation Project. I undertook analysis and design of a interface between JadeStar and Active Directory to simplify the on boarding/off boarding of personnel and improve data integrity.LINQ Information Flow Design Thinking Pilot. Maven Consultancy were engaged to explore use a design thinking approach to using their LINQ information supply chain modelling tool. I used LINQ to document the data flows related to Loss Modelling.The Loss Modelling Capability Development Project. This was a complex and involved project to replace the existing Loss Modelling program (Minerva). I prepared the initial Minerva Current State – Systems Analysis and co-prepared the High Level Requirements documents. These served as a basis for supplier selection and primary input into the subsequent Agile based development jointly undertaken by GNS and Catalyst. I also prepared documents relating to the design and testing of the system as it was developed. -

Developed video call state transition, entity event and system interaction diagrams in consultation with the business and the techies. Provided valuable feedback on the system behavior aspects of the design document to ensure that it met requirements, and called out ones that would not be satisfied. This helped make business expectations more realistic. Assisted the project manager with the preparation of the Operational Knowledge document and the lead business analyst with surveying and documenting store hardware upgrade requirements.

DeveloperNational Grid Sep 2000 - Mar 2002Reading, United KingdomDeveloped complex quasi real time models of the National Grid power system using object oriented modeling and implementation techniques based on my private research. Developed object structures and functions to generate fault sequences based on the current network topology for input into a transient stability analysis program (which was developed by Bath University). This research project proved so successful that a new category called "operational prototype" was created so that the system could be used by control engineers until the full corporate system implementation procedures (of two to three years duration) could be followed.Redesigned and reimplemented the existing study mode enhancement in order to develop the Scottish Transfer Study Mode. This involved gaining an understanding of the existing complex multi processing study mode and developing an architecture that integrated both intertrip and transfer study modes. The resulting design was used by the C++ production version development team. The development was conducted remotely at home in New Zealand. Revised and redeveloped the Fault Sequence Generation algorithm to be more general.This entailed complex network traversal routines along with the building of two level wrapped tree structures. Initial investigation into the Scottish Transfer Study Mode project.Also attended the European Smalltalk Users Group week long Summer School. -
