Project Engineer IvFluor Corporation Oct 2007 - Jul 2009Irving, Texas, UsProject Engineer – TXE Petro-Coke Gasification, Beaumont, TXFEED project to design a refinery to convert petroleum coke into usable gas products. The mega-complex was designed to produce 200MMSCFD of Hydrogen, 1600MTPD of Methanol, 15,000TPD of Carbon Dioxide, 900TPD of Ammonia, and 400TPD of Molten Sulfur. Coordinated the Business Risk Analysis for the project, compiled the monthly progress report with oral presentations to the Client.KEY ACHIEVEMENT:► Championed the Value Engineering (VE) program for the FEED design phase of this 5-year project. The project faced cancellation due to cost over-runs, but the VE program saved the project $237M and allowed the project to go forward to detail engineeringProject Engineer – Detroit Heavy Oil Upgrade Project, Detroit, MIProject involved modifying the existing Detroit Refinery to accept heavy Canadian oil sand crude, which could then be refined into gasoline. The construction value of the project was $2.1B, and required the integration of a new Delayed Coker, Sulfur and DHT units, as well as a new Hydrogen Plant. KEY ACHIEVEMENT:► Developed and implemented a new Material Quantity Tracking Procedure and Reporting Database designed to project material overruns. The prototype procedure was so successful that it was subsequently implemented on all of the company’s projects that were managed from the Southern California office. -
