Personally led 50 Infantry soldiers on more than 300 combat missions in Baghdad, Iraq providing safety and security to local inhabitants. Routinely met with political and religious leaders to promote peace and facilitate construction projects including a pharmacy, elementary school, and a bridge connecting farmland to a local marketplace. These projects helped improve the local economy as well as the lives of countless people by providing employment, education, and medicine while fostering strong relationships that facilitated the collection of actionable intelligence to advance U.S. national security interests. Planned and oversaw humanitarian missions for local inhabitants providing medical services and food to needy families and school supplies to Iraqi children. Planned and led more than 22 joint missions with the Iraqi Army, as well as an operation that resulted in the successful rescue of a hostage. During routine patrols, discovered and helped render safe, 6 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) before they could do harm to local citizens or coalition forces.Awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, 3 Army Achievement Medals, Navy Achievement Medal, and numerous other awards and decorations.
