I am an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Utah in Salt Lake City. I serve in the Financial Crimes Section, specifically as the District's Criminal Tax and TIGTA Coordinator. Previously, as Senior Litigation Counsel, I ran a full caseload and supervised training for AUSAs and law enforcement agents. I also served five years as the Training Officer for the Utah USAO. I have tried 24 felony jury cases (and 1 jury forfeiture trial), 1 bench trial, briefed 24 appellate briefs, and argued 7 times in the Ninth and Tenth Circuits. Over the past eleven years, I have investigated and prosecuted: public corruption, white collar, financial fraud, defense procurement fraud, bribery, tax crimes, along with large-scale narcotics trafficking and violent gangs. In the San Diego USAO, I served in the OCDETF and General Crimes Sections. Prior to joining the Utah USAO, I served as a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Prosecution Assistance Program at the University of Wyoming College of Law. I also served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of California (San Diego). Earlier in my career, I served one-year clerkships for Judge Paul G. Cassell (D. Utah), and Judge Jay S. Bybee (Ninth Circuit). Admitted to California (2004), Colorado (2010), Utah (2012) and Wyoming (2010) (all by examination); the U.S. Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit; the Tenth Circuit, the Southern District of California, the District of Colorado, the District of Utah and the District of Wyoming.
