As a Principal Product Manager, I led a team of product designers, engineers, QA specialists, and other product managers as we designed and implemented new customer online presences using the Vox Media SaaS CMS platform, Chorus. I also worked across the larger organization to unite product teams, community, design, and analytics specialists around a customer centric model for rolling out this new line of business.

Our small team of consultants provided product strategy and design services to fortune 500 companies like Microsoft, HP, Sprint, FedEx, and Johnson & Johnson and worked with local startups to create new digital products or improve key areas of their user experience.

As Head of UX Architecture and Design Research I provided leadership to globally dispersed teams of visual designers, interaction designers, and researchers developing next generation web and mobile experiences. I was responsible for evangelizing UX vision across the organization. I worked with upper management to ensure that business goals and strategies related to innovation and social integration were being met, and with developers to implement UX concepts. I also managed a group of user researchers and was responsible for design research input and concept validation testing.

As a Senior Design Analyst for frog I acted as team lead and individual contributor in developing strategy documents, wireframes, user flows, and in designing and conducting user research. I also led client presentations and brainstorming sessions. Notable projects included the redesign of a marketplace system for Cisco and design of a new phone OS for Motorola.

As a founding partner of Handwire I helped grow the company to one of the top 20 web development firms in Texas. In addition to participating in business development activities and general company management I oversaw a team of highly motivated designers and programmers and acted as lead interaction designer and project manager on most of our engagements. Some Handwire projects included development of a wayfinding kiosk for the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center which combined AutoCAD, Flash and web technologies, creation of a social gaming website for Microsoft’s XSN Sports that provided a group play aspect based on individual console use, and consolidation of over 200 global sites into one centralized HR services site for Royal Dutch Shell.

Oak Sanderson is a marketing and sales support company that specializes in one-to-one marketing campaigns. My primary focus at Oak was to conceptualize and then oversee development of the Oak Direct Marketing Engine, a CRM system providing web-based campaign landing page surveys supported by a backend of custom developed reporting and metrics tools. CRM giant Peoplesoft used our system as an alternative to their own more complex software.

As a Senior Project Manager for Mediatruck I fulfilled all project management tasks including proposal writing, budget management, client interaction, and project team management. I was also responsible for developing all requirements documentation, information architecture, and wireframes for projects in which I was involved.

As Internet Architect, I acted as liaison between the technical team, creative teams, project management teams and the client to gather project requirements, create technical project plans, and complete quality assurance testing. I moved into the Business Solutions Group to become a Senior Producer where I was responsible for project management of large projects including Riffage an early social music website. I was also involved in setting the overall direction for the department.

At VersaCom, I managed a team of programmers and creatives to develop and maintain over 200 industry websites and portals. I was also responsible for providing input and direction into the company strategy and overall growth plan.

At TPTA, I led ongoing development and marketing of TherapyNet, one of the first health-care job search sites on the internet. I was also responsible for the overall internet communications and education strategy for the association.
