The well plan projected on vertical and horizontal maps which demanded real-time update as drilling progressed and several Petrel based work flows were created to obtain such.While the borehole is being drilled according to the well plan, new geological information is gathered from mud logging, measurement while drilling (MWD) and logging while drilling (LWD). These usually show some differences from what is expected from the model. As the model is continuously updated with the new geological information (formation evaluation) and the borehole position (well deviation survey), changes start to appear in the geological substructures and can lead to the well plan being updated to reach the corrected geological targets.Several Geolog and Petrel based macros were created and maintained in order for geosterring operators to be able to report back to Operations Geologists any updated information required for further planning of the well bore plan.Use of real-time satellite systems and associated log retrieval systems were used to obtain real-time LWD/MWD data to feed the G&G applications used to performed well evaluation as well was drilled.
