I was employed in the Ministry of Industry from 1986 to 1989, and has been employed with the DFSA since November 1989. From 1993 to 1999 I was responsible for supervision of market risk and operational risk in large banks and investment banks. . In 1999 I was appointed as Director of the Securities Division. In this Division I had the responsibility for the regulation and supervision of the regulated markets, including market transparency, take over bids, market abuse and prospectuses. I was also responsible for negotiating and implementing the five securities markets directives (including the MiFID) in the Financial Services Action Plan, including the Danish work in CESR. From February 2007 to June 2017 I was Director of the Operational Risk Division. As Director of this Division I was over the years responsible for regulating and supervising: governance in financial institutions, supervision of investment firms, market risks and operational risks in large and medium sized banks, VaR- and AMA-models, the financial infrastructure (clearing and settlement) and resolution of banks.In 2012 I was chairing the EU Working Group on the CSD Regulation and I was deeply involved in the negotiations on the EMIR regulation.Since June 2017 I am Director of the Anti Money Laundering an Terror Financing Division which was established at the same date.
