I joined Morgan Stanley in 1993 having spent the previous eight years working as a financial advisor in a regional brokerage house. In 1993 the firm had just created a new division Corporate Services and I was invited to be one of the first in the nation to work for this group. The Corporate Services Group focused on the financial needs of public companies working in conjunction with the Investment Bankers to bring these services to our clients in a organized professional manner. Much of what I did focused on stock-based compensation, Rule 144, for the C-Suite and other senior management. Over the years I along with my team in Madison and Chicago also developed a significant business working with private/family-owned businesses in managing portfolios, mergers and acquisitions and generational and estate planning issues.
