Lead and coach a team of engineers • performing power system analysis on local 30kV up to national and international 380kV grids resulting in proposals for future grid development within a 15-year time horizon• developing new methods and investment criteria integrating risk management

Responsible for the development of the 380kV grid• Project scoping and justification for:- Internal grid reinforcements- Power plant connections- Replacement needs of aging equipment- Interconnections (Belgium – the Netherlands and Belgium – United Kingdom)• Coordination and consolidation of:- Power system analysis- Market studies• Coordination of preliminary and in-depth studies for the connection of new clientsResponsible grid concept and design for Belgian Offshore Grid, an offshore network to connect the Belgian offshore wind farms in the North Sea• Coordination of necessary power system analysis (steady state / dynamic / transient)• Definition of network structure (SLD)• Techno-economic analysis

Long-term planning studies for the Belgian power grid.Responsible for the power system analysis of the 30kV up to the 380kV grid within a 2 to 15 year time horizon. Performing deterministic and probabilistic load flow and short circuit calculations to propose the neccesary grid development to cope with:• Replacement needs• Power plant connections• National and international market evolution

Development of a simulator to test protection relays for the high voltage grid:• Development of a simulator to test existing and new protection relays in a laboratory environment• Defining testing-protocols• Development of a ‘mini’-simulator for on-site testing- Defining technical specifications- Production of a prototype of the ‘mini’-simulator

Audit of the electrical installations of the water purification plant focussing on:• Thermal loading and fault current calculations• Cable dimensioning
