My responsibilities included training our staff to understand their value in assisting customers with creating an insurance program that best suits their needs. I enjoyed establishing relationships with our agency customers and making them feel like family. Nothing beats like hearing your customers tell you they see value in being with your agency and despite uncontrollable agency circumstances (like a premium increase), they still want to stay with your agency. To see the fruit of my team's labor was always rewarding.

Nothing beats like working in a vacation hot spot like South Beach! I managed one front desk team for two sister properties. At the time the Clevelander was under renovations so I had the opportunity to train a new team in understanding and delivering the standard of services in the hospitality trade. The best part of this role was that the majority of the team members did not have any prior hospitality experience so it was a chance to create a culture of delivering exceptional service. Further, the Clevelander is primarily known for its food and beverage and entertainment/night life scene; the leadership team was trying to reposition the brand and have a stronger marketing campaign for the hotel. It was an exciting moment for our rooms department to see the property ranked in the top 10 properties on Tripadvisor.com when we reopened the Clevelander after renovations.

This property kicked off my professional leadership and management experience. I started as an At Your Service agent and was cross trained as a front desk agent two months after starting. Less than half a year later, I was promoted to the front desk supervisor role and a year later to Assistant Front Desk Manager. The property was a 40 year old property at the time and needed several renovations at the time. Under the Marriott brand, we focused strongly on improving our guest satisfaction scores. My major project throughout my tenure was improving our property's score of making our loyal Marriott Rewards members feel recognized and appreciated. I also oversaw the Marriott Rewards enrollment program at our property increasing the enrollments two-fold. I was honored to be the recipient of 12 Marriott's Spirit to Serve awards and the be nominated for the 2007 Greater Miami Inn Key Awards Front Office Associate of the Year.
