PPF is the connective tissue at the intersection of advocacy groups working to intervene at different parts of the plastics supply chain. Traditionally, plastics, extraction, climate, and environmental justice advocacy groups have been largely siloed, operating in isolation in what appeared to be disparate struggles. Struggles against the same villain. The Peak Plastic Foundation is an NGO between the NGOs-- the polymer chain between the molecules in a global fight. We are instigators and catalysts. Producers. We are insiders. Creators. Experts. Connectors. Researchers. Architects. Grassroots Organizers. We are Innovators, Conveners, Strategists and Executors working to communicate and campaign against the vexing environmental and human injustices caused by a material we call plastic. PPF talks story from the perspective of the frontline and the fenceline. We organize by listening first. From the Global South and The Global North and the space between. We reach believers and infect the nonbelievers. We tip off the reporters. We influence and accelerate a new narrative. PPF builds power to change a broken system by organizing organizers across culture, creed and geopolitical divide; weaponizing the creation of stories to spark campaign strategy and build coalition in real time, on the ground. We operate with deep trust, peripheral vision, and integrity and are known for that. We build projects with metric human rights and conservation outcomes to scale them. For about a decade I dreamed of telling a different kind of Plastic story. The Story of Plastic is a feature length documentary meant to do just that. Told from the perspective of experts around the world, The Story of Plastic reveals not just the scope of plastic pollution from extraction to disposal but the tireless activists on the frontlines fighting back and who the real villains are-- the fossil fuel industry and the fast moving consumer brands pumping out plastic at an exponential rate. The project started about nine years ago after being inspired by a trip to wastepicker communities in The Philippines. From there, A small team set out to raise the money to fund the project, successfully raising a half million dollars in philanthropy. With fuel for a big project, We created a story and interviewed experts around the world with my production team from Pale Blue Dot media showcasing the incredible efforts of movement leaders pushing for justice, equity, and a planet free from plastic pollution. Currently, the film is distributed by Discovery Network and we won an Emmy.

I have worked with The 5 Gyres Institute since inception. Specifically, I work on development, policy, and communications, as well as strategic planning for charting the course of the nonprofit. I also write and research marine plastic and marine born chemical pollution and communicate through publications, social media, blogs and still photography. I design policy directives and goals for 5 Gyres, working on common sense solutions to vexing environmental issues. I also take part in 5 Gyres expeditions to the 'garbage patches' and have sailed 20,000 nautical miles with our team documenting pollution in some of the most remote areas of the world. I specialize in corporate relations, fundraising (grants and sponsorships) to support the organization's mission of building a world free of plastic pollution.
