During my time at MyWave I was working within the operations team at MyWave, I was responsible for designing and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support production, demonstration, testing and R&D environments. The cloud infrastructure consisted of Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.Other aspects of the role included coordination with the development and testing teams to deploy new upgrade of the code with the aim of minimal downtime to production systems. Troubleshooting and diagnoses of build issues was also required periodically to resolve in a timely manner. Ansible was utilised to achieve various configuration management ranging provisioning environments and configuring the software. The operations role also included, internal IT support, 2nd level customer service support, licence management of software and consultation with potential clients to asses their needs and requirements.

As the Senior Engineer I am the final point of escalation when dealing with issues and also responsible for mentoring other members of the team. My role consist of liaising with various stakeholders clients, management, developers, product team. I strive for high quality and where possible investigate methods to automate systems with a repeatable outcome using tools such as puppet. Other roles include running the CAB in order to ensure that changes have been prepared in line with ITIL methodologies.

During my time as a system engineer I was responsible for dealing with any escalation from the Service Desk. Other activities also included writing and executing custom reports for clients, performing capacity planning and traveling overseas to support international clients.I also played a strong role in supporting a new product and understanding the different components in order to help deploy environments.

During my time as an Inccident Management Officer (IMO) my main role was the first point of contact for our clients for incidents or service requests raised.I quickly managed to become familiar with out product suite and provided detailed information to the engineering team to assist with issues escalated or bugs identified.The service desk was operating on a 24/5 rotating roster and during this time managed to work with a wide variety of clients, both across Australia and International.
