I work with Carnegie Class colleges and universities that use the Kuali Foundation open source enterprise system. My expertise lies in the Kuali Financial System and the Kuali Coeus post award contracts and grants system. I work with the users to determine their functional needs, write functional specifications and work with Java developers and system architects to customize the systems to the user specifications.Kuali is a growing community of universities, colleges, businesses and other organizations partnering to build and sustain open source software, for higher education, by higher education. Kuali software is designed for all sizes of institutions, from land-grant research universities to community colleges.I am currently working on the Kuali Foundation Contracts & Grants Billing project. This is built around the current Kuali Financial System accounts receivable module and automates the process of billing awards by creating expense reimbursable, scheduled billing and milestone billing invoices specific to agency requirements. The project also automates the process for recording letter of credit payments, collections management and includes an integration from Kuali Coeus awards to Kuali Financial System awards. We successfullyt delivered Phase 1 of the project in December 2011. Phase 2, adding collections functionality is currently underway.

I work with CEO’s, CFO’s and COO’s to provide insight on how business processes affect efficiency and profitability. I am experienced in all aspects of operations and financial management, including manufacturing operations, cost accounting, inventory management, order management, cash management, banking and auditor relationships, project management, systems implementation and financial reporting. I also have extensive experience in financial reporting, cash management, strategic planning, budgeting and financial analysis.

As Controller, I was responsible for accounting and finance. I worked closely with the Director of Operations in setting up and implementing processes and procedures for sales, purchasing, manufacturing and inventory using Exact Software's MAX ERP system. These efforts resulted in keeping less inventory on hand and having accurate inventory counts and valuations. This also let to shorter production times as there were fewer inventory shortages.Leveraging the integration of MAX ERP to Dynamics Great Plains we were able to reduce the montly close to 3-4 days. Using the FRx financial reporting tool, management had greater access to financial statements and financial data on a real time basis.

ColoradoAdventure.com is an affordable alternative to state run sources of information for mostly small mom & pop enterprises.I was responsible for the web content, administration of the business and finance and accounting. I designed and implemented the accounting system, the billing system and the customer renewal process for advertisers and members who chose to purchase one of the ColoradoAdventure.com memberships which entitled members to special discounts at participating advertisers.
