Drawing from over 20 years of experience in global affairs, strategic intelligence, risk management, and business development, I founded and manage MAKASSAR Partners, a boutique consultancy that helps clients reduce third-party and counterparty risk in markets that face complex environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges. I apply in-depth, on-the-ground expertise touching conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs), to create positive impact and value for my clients and partners.My background combines military, business and sports diplomacy, entrepreneurial, and consulting roles. I leveraged a strong network of global and local stakeholders to design and implement initiatives to revitalize war-torn economies through private sector investments, applied sports diplomacy to foster peace and development in fragile states against the backdrop of the London Games 2012, and built operational resilience for clients and partners in frontier markets through bespoke advisory services. I have gained a deep understanding of the dynamics of CAHRAs, and risk through this experience.
