I taught math, engineering, and physics in Title 1 schools for 6 years. As an educator, I worked to provide highly effective, research-based instruction both in the classroom and in e-learning environments to make my students academically qualified and intellectually prepared for both college and career. I believe that every student can learn, that the needs of each student are different and we must meet those needs without shame while building student capacity to meet them themselves and that every student should be valued for who they are and whom they can become. I have had a wide variety of experiences. I bring to the table the maturity of someone with a background in both education and industry and a wide base of knowledge. My background in programming, engineering, education, and instructional design will be an asset to a company and my experience as a teacher gives me insight on how to easily learn a variety of new topics quickly and on the fly.In my spare time, I mentor students on the Monterey Peninsula in the design, fabrication, and programming of robots for FIRST Robotics competitions. I specialize in control systems design and object tracking.
