I'm an enthusiastic biochemist with 10 years of experience in protein engineering. My focus is on directed evolution methodologies, where I worked with antibody fragments, enzymes, and cyclic peptides. I'm a goal-oriented, generally optimistic person and happily tackle new challenges.During the 5 years in R&D of a global pharmaceutical company, I have generated phage display libraries, biopanning, and ELISA screening to significantly improve the affinity of single-chain Fv antibodies (scFv) against their target antigens. To further increase my expertise in protein engineering I invested additional 5 years in a Ph.D. where I characterized novel enzymes (manuscript in preparation) and generated SICLOPPS libraries to select and identify cyclic peptides as protein-protein interaction inhibitors.Furthermore, I see myself as a strong team player with excellent communication skills and am levelheaded also under stressful conditions. I'm always up for a challenge and like to explore new areas and learn new skills that I then consolidate with my previous knowledge.As a balance to my work life, I love to do all kinds of sports (in- and outdoors), read the news or fantasy and science fiction novels and - most recently - brew my own craft beer at home, which I happily share with friends and colleagues.
