My employment at Bitsim AB was as ”Senior FPGA/HW Design Engineer”. Much of my time was as a consultant for external customers, but I also worked in a number of internal projects. The assignments was in both systems work/planning and in the design/construction area. Often they where FPGA related, I am certified in Xilinx Xilinx Alliance Certification Program”, but also often related to radio. From a functional point of view I have worked with almost all aspects of FPGA:s, both software and hardware related. I have experience from many of Xilinx and Alteras FPGA:s as well as many IP blocks. In the radio field I have experience from a number of standards, WLAN, Bluetooth, GSM/GSM like systems, 4G systems DSRC and others. Here the assignments have been from all the way from specification to verification measurements.

Resonsible for FPGA related issues at SickIVP. Worked with a number of FPGA designs in SickIVP:s products. Experiance of a number of Xilinx FPGA:s as well as a number of Altera FPGA:s. Most designs were in VHDL.Implentation of various image processing algorithms. Also experience from a number of communication standards such as Ethernet, Camera Link, HSSI, I2C, RS232, etc. Implemantation of a variaty of memory and bus interfaces, such as RAM, SDRAM, DDR, different types of CPU busses, etc.

Group coordinator for digital design in the SocTRix demonstrator project. The work was to design and implement the digital Transmitter/Receiver of a WLAN system in the SocTRix project. The WLAN 802.11 a/b/g was imlemented in an ASIC. Design of ASIC Rapid Prototying card based on FPGA:s. The card was based on 9 large FPGA with Cardbus interface for communication.Implementation of various digital blocks in Transmitter/Receiver for WLAN, FFT for OFDM, Modulators, synchronization, demodulator, filters, FEC encoder, channel equilizer etc. Design and evaluation of OFDM (for WLAN) algorithms, fix point effects, peak clipping calculations, channel equilizations and simulations, BER/PER calculations. The implementations were in VHDL.Design and implementation of digital readout/control circuitry for QWIP sensor The design was made in VHDL and the implementation was in an ASIC.

Worked with design of general electronics for use in a Telematic system for cars. Also responsible for specification and requirements of a GSM module for use in the same Telematic system. System work and development of a “smart home“ module. For communication we used LAN, WLAN 802.11b, Home RF and systems for controlling 240 V power to lamps, etc.
