At the beginning of the junior year, I got transferred to Network Operation Center (NOC) under Robert Knowledge.The position taught me the process of IT escalations and when a system goes down, speedily open a bridge, contact system admins, gather information about the issue, and investigate further into the outage or incident. Additionally, I helped in commissioning servers, performing walk-throughs checking the database, and server patching along with several other important tasks. Manager: Robert Knowlton

At the beginning of sophomore year, I got transferred to work for Endpoint Operations at the IT Warehouse under Stephen Lemster for Grand Canyon University.The IT Warehouse receives new equipment from projectors and monitors to desktops, laptops, and servers. The equipment would be asset tagged, logged into an asset tracking system, reimaged using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) from Microsoft, and deployed. Additionally, the Warehouse received termed employee equiment and damaged equiment, which would need to be assessed and performed on to be redeployed. Configuring computers for deployment involved ensuring that the user is properly set up as in able to log in, receive email, and all other software functioned.The job at the beginning was a new Student Worker position, so high reliance and independence was required. Due to the emerging position, there was scarce documentation of procedures and processes that were expected to be completed at the Warehouse, so after gaining knowledge through asking questions I created documentation to assist future student workers.Manager: Stephen Lemster

The beginning of college I got hired to work for the Help Desk at Grand Canyon University (GCU) under Bree Speed.The help desk focuses on ensuring to maintain the information technology support (ITS) for staff and faculty at the university by communicating with employees at a call center. At the call center, I learn how to effectively communicate and efficiently research issues that end users were experiencing. The calls were also logged in a request system, where I had to provide information, such as the issue, the resolution steps, and other information regarding the user. Additionally, I was assigned other tasks involving granting assess to new users and even working the on-campus Nerd Heard.At the Nerd Heard, I worked on checking in student computers, diagnosing the issue with those computers, and if authorized opening the computers to fix them. I worked until closing certain shifts, so I assigned to put away computers, clean the area, confirm that all requests for student computers matched the computer stored, and lockup.The following year I got transferred to the Endpoint Operation.Manager: Bree Speed
