Mobileum’s Smart Presentation Server (SP) allows enterprises to develop a wireless application once and deliver it in an optimized fashion to all wireless devices, regardless of markup language.Redesigned and implemented the next generation Smart Presentation Server utilizing Java (Servlets/EJB/JDBC/SAX), XML (XHTML/WML/VoiceXML), and XSLT. Created XSLT style sheets for the proper conversion from one language (XHTML, HDML, WML, etc) to another (HTML, WML, PQA, VoiceXML, etc.). Altered processing of requests from enterprise grade to a telecomm carrier class product by converting processing to a SAX filter chain. After redesign, performance was increased by an order of magnitude (60 requests/sec to over 600 requests/sec on a single machine) due to the SAX-driven model and caching enhancements. Also increased RAS by integrating the server with a JavaSpace-like API to allow a cluster of servers to communicate and failover without dropping requests.
