Ted was part of the Beca Geotechnical team in the Fletcher lead tender bid for the NZTA Huntly Bypass, part of the New Zealand Transport Authority Roads of National Significance program. This included geotechnical design for bridge construction and associated ground improvement.

Ted was seconded into the SCIRT (Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team) office as part of a multi-discipline design team responsible for design and delivery of infrastructure repair and rebuild projects following the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence of 2010/2011.Responsibilities included: - Analysis and preparation of design plans- Observation and condition assessment of retaining walls- Specifications and reporting for retaining walls- Water supply, storm water and waste water and other underground facilities- Construction monitoring for retaining walls and bridge piling- Liquefaction assessment and analysisWhile at SCIRT, Ted was the lead author for the technical paper 'Seismic performance of retaining walls on the Christchurch Port Hills during the 2010/2011 Canterbury Earthquakes', which he presented at the 2015 Australia New Zealand Conference on Geomechanics in Wellington.
