Managed in-house editorial staff of seven creative professionals in a time of severe resource constraints, which involved reducing expenses wherever possible and reallocating editorial staff to achieve greater efficiencies. Ensured that the Society’s monthly flagship and six other magazines got to press on time, on budget, and error-free. Set and maintained editorial calendars, oversaw peer-review process, and negotiated with volunteer contributors—editors in chief, editorial boards, guest editors, and authors—about deadlines and editorial style for print/digital publication. Managed workflow and anticipated, developed, and implemented solutions to problems. Met annual editorial page and dollar budgets, which involved regularly monitoring, analyzing, and reporting budget status. Led the design and management of new department projects and business opportunities, which included monitoring online and print publishing trends and reader needs to identify forward-looking processes and technologies. Transitioned several titles from print publication to fully digital.

Oversaw and coordinated quality control for an XML quality assurance project. Phase 1 involved a team of editors comparing print versus digital material and identifying discrepancies. Phase 2 involved updating XML and MathML code so that the digital product matched the print version.
