Integrated real-time sensory feedback onto a compliant worm robot using strategically-placed force and pressure sensors combined with circuit boards, designed and created in-house. Programmed microcontrollers to collect and interpret sensory data in real time and dynamically update actuation scheme to optimize performance. Invited by NASA SLOPE to test worm robot in their facilities, compared locomotive capabilities between the peristaltic motion of robot and the current wheels on NASA rovers, determined robot design could navigate steeper terrains than wheels.
