I was employed as CDM Conference Coordinator responsible for facilitating the smooth, timely and professional organisation of the Caribbean region’s 3rd CDM Conference - the regional contribution to the Hyogo Framework for Action 2005-2015 and a regional event of the International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR) global platform. The Conference was structured to promote good practice, share ongoing research, chart the way forward for the advancement of CDM in the Caribbean and to provide a unique opportunity for networking among disaster management practitioners, donors, NGOs, public and private sector organisations, researchers, civil society and other CDM Stakeholders. The CDM Conference included Professional Development Sessions, a Schools Programme, Disaster Management Exhibition, Cultural Event and Disaster Management Tour.
