Managing Technical Writer
Planned, researched, authored, and edited documentation deliverables for three product lines. Designed and updated online Help templates to correspond with updated applications. Defined and monitored deliverable schedules in conjunction with Project Management. Collaborated with engineering teams and Product Management in developing strategic information design plans and product library definitions. Defined standard documentation process to be used by peers in the Documentation Department – defined writing and editing procedures, processes, and checklists that department members used when writing project documentation. Developed content templates, project style sheets, department style guide, self-edit checklist, and peer-edit checklist. Coordinated translation of documentation deliverables with third-party vendor. Researched and vetted localization vendors and assisted upper management in vendor selection. Created localization workflow documents defining localization steps, localization tracking spreadsheets, and checklists. Mentored team members in developing their skills ensuring that departmental “best practices” were implemented. Edited team deliverables and provided constructive reviews and comments. Co-authored and edited Epsilon’s 2014 Society for Technical Communication (STC) presentation proceedings paper, Building a COE: From Traditional Documentation to Wikis; panelist in the Epsilon Publication Department’s presentation at the 2014 STC Summit.
