About Struan Clay

Had a very busy year so far. I edited the visuals for Dior Men's Winter '24 show at Paris Fashion Week with Baillie Walsh. Several commercials. More work on ABBA 'Voyage' also with Baillie Walsh. Edited Young Fathers 'Heavy Heavy' (Live) which won Best Live Video at the UKMVAs in October. Directed by Tom Kingston through Black Dog Films, it features 3 tracks recorded live from their latest album.2022 saw completion of 'Fugitive. The Curious Case of Carlos Ghosn' with Lucy Blakstad. A Netflix commission about the former CEO who was accused of embezzling millions of dollars from Nissan - he was the guy who was smuggled out of Japan, in a flight case! Great story.Also in 2022 I edited a documentary pilot for Balenciaga directed by Jake Scott through RSA's Unscripted Division. It covered in-depth interviews and behind the scenes action of various shows. The documentary was unfortunately scrapped due to the 'Kiddy Porn' scandal.In the last few years I've done 2 awesome music projects. First out was 'Oasis Knebworth 1996', a feature length documentary directed by Jake Scott, to celebrate 25 years since the band's record breaking gigs. Also, I was Lead Editor on ABBA 'Voyage', the band's virtual concert, directed by Baillie Walsh. For this I edited the motion capture performances of several of the songs, which are used as concert visuals. It was fab to work with Baillie again and in such close collaboration with the folks at ILM - the show is brilliant.In between these long-form projects I've been able to keep my commercials work goinghttps://simian.me/302bz2019/20 I edited 'Kipchoge. The Last Milestone', a feature length documentary directed by Jake Scott. Beautifully shot in Kenya and Vienna, it follows Eliud Kipchoge's successful attempt to be the first man to run a marathon under 2 hours. Available on Netflix. In 2015 I worked on a feature called 'First Born'​ directed by Nirpal Bhogal. A low-budget psychological horror with great cast including Antonia Thomas (Misfits) and Luke Norris (Poldark). In 2014 I was Co-Editor on ‘Pan’, Joe Wright's blockbuster, starring Hugh Jackman, Rooney Mara and a fantastic cast, mainly cutting the Action Sequences. A huge Warner Brothers Action/Adventure movie and a great experience.My first feature was ‘Flashbacks of a Fool’ directed by Baillie Walsh, starring Daniel Craig as a faded movie star.
