Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer
As a design engineer for PAR's OakRiver Life Science division, I am deeply involved in my projects from the proposal phase through acceptance testing. I deliver high-fidelity machines to customers with unique and challenging processes, often with tight time constraints due to the nature of the industries we serve. My role includes a high degree of project ownership, as I am typically the sole mechanical engineer working on a given machine. This means that in addition to the technical diligence that is required to create reliable systems, I must also constantly maintain a wider view of the big picture and be proactive in effectively communicating the needs of my customer, my team, and myself to other stakeholders.Some highlights of my previous and ongoing projects in which I have been the mechanical lead include an automated needle handling and transferring machine, a novel lithium battery cell assembly system, an industrial material handling system for wood processing, and tooling design and fixturing for heart stent manufacturing.
