I spent 6 months working with Hyperdrive which ultimately became TurnTide at their Sunderland workshop. My role was to assist with the development and integration of high capacity batteries, with Hitachi, to electrify train carriages. This role taught me the good, bad, and ugly, on how an engineering department works effectively on projects in a rapidly expanding industry. As well as giving me the flexibility to consolidate knowledge gained from every department, and learn from every ‘level’ - from graduate to upper management. I met some very close friends in my short time in this role.

During the academic year of 18/19 I was in charge of all adventerous training (AT) which included organising trips away: skiing in Bavaria, canoeing in France, and a cycling expedition through the Alps, to name a few.During the academic year of 19/20 I was promoted to Acting Pilot Officer and received a commission into the RAF VR. In this role I was a flight commander in which I managed a flight of around 15 officer cadets, all with their own specialised projects, organised under my supervision.During the academic year 20/21 I was given an extension on my commission into a unique position where I was mentoring the current leadership team, all supervising their own flights, as well as assisting the commanding officer in the general running of the squadron.All of the responsibility of course came with the perks of the role! Many amazing times were had in many different countries, as well as studying and flying the EFT syllabus (including a one-off lesson in a Juno helicopter), along with some unforgettable social events.

I worked in a Vertu Honda dealership, and was the liaison between the customer and service technicians working in the garage. I was responsible for greeting customers, listening to requests, scheduling appointments, estimating costs, and invoicing. Additionally, worked with customers to determine problems with a vehicle and provide technicians with accurate repair descriptions. I made sure technicians were working on time for the customer to collect the vehicle, on top of arranging other transportations such as courtesy cars, offering lifts, and entertaining in the waiting area, while keeping jobs on track, and using opportunities to up-sell repairs/maintenance on top of the service work the vehicles were originally in for.

My role included cleaning the database, extracting the most accurate customer data spread across multiple files, and merging these into the one record, then finally deleting the older, outdated records. This was in order to keep the company's databases clean from duplicates.

My role included organising and logging donations, as well as keeping the shop in order, and serving customers on the till.
