Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, my main role is to manage, oversee and resolve legal matters across the HCF Group, being HCF (private health insurance) and HCF Life (life insurance). The HCF Group has approximately 1,000 employees and annual turnover of $2 billion. Types of work include:• managing multiple matters and senior stakeholders across the HCF Group;• drafting and delivering precedent documents (for example, services agreements, recruitment agreements, agency agreements, distribution agreements and sponsorship agreements);• drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including request for tenders across the HCF Group;• advising on project matters including M&A;• managing HCF’s intellectual property portfolio;• managing HCF’s litigation matters;• working with HCF’s insurers to mitigate legal risk across the HCF Group;• attending to risk and compliance matters, including risk assessments;• advising the HCF Group on legislative change and legal matters including privacy and data security; and• acting as HCF’s Privacy Officer.
