I have served with Mid & West Wales Fire & Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) since 2002, I am an experienced Fire Officer having served as an operational Firefighter, Crew Manager, Watch Manager, Station Manager and now Group Manager. I have a great deal of experience in the operational environment, including in Heavy and Technical rescue, I was previously a Technician and Deputy team Leader within the Wales Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team, where I gained an enormous amount of experience attending some of the most high profile Incidents within Wales over recent years.In addition to my USAR role I fulfilled the role of Technician within the United Kingdom International Search and Rescue (UKISAR) Team. My current role is Head of training delivery for MAWWFRS, amongst other things I am responsible for ensuring our operational staff receive relevant, modern, realistic and challenging risk critical training to ensure they are safe, competent and effective Firefighters and Tactical Officers.Previous middle manager Fire Service roles include Training Manager Breathing Apparatus training team, Corporate Project implementation Officer, Deputy Head of Corporate Risk and Deputy Divisional Commander.It was a privilege and honour to be chosen by CFO Roger Thomas KFSM to represent MAWWFRS as a street liner at the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
