  After gaining dual degrees in Economics and Law, I started my own firm in 1996 in the Whitsundays, which at the time was on the cusp of its first major property boom in decades. Recognizing this, I launched a boutique service called Property Development Law, and dedicated myself to offering a niche service to that emerging market. During this time I also co-founded Powerup Project Reticulation, an underground power reticulation service for developers, and statutory authorities, now also installing fibre for NBN Co.Powerup has afforded me an insight into civil construction which allows me a far greater and extremely valuable understanding of the process (and pitfalls) of property development. As such, we add more value to the project consultancy team than most other traditional legal services. In 2012 our boutique legal service incorporated and re-badged to PD Law. I'm a director and part owner. Since then, the way we manage our business and offer our services has undergone massive, exciting change, due in large part to our new management structure. It's been challenging to break away from a traditional legal service model, though once you start out on redesigning the way you do business, a bit like exercise, it's addictive and rewarding and you don't want to stop. I pretend I'm still young and agile enough to go bush on a dirt bike, I kite surf, fish, and try to stay fit on my mountain bike.
