I am passionate about delivering superb customer service and strive at all times to help members and visitors from around the globe with my friendly, informal but always professional manner. When I 'Meet and Greet' visiting parties to Gullane 1, I take time to explain to them not only the fine history of Gullane Golf Club and the links where golf was played as far back as 1650, but also how our great game has evolved from featheries and hickory via the collection of vintage golf balls and clubs in the Members' Clubhouse. I also talk them through the Honours Board highlighting some famous names and stories featuring amongst others 'Babe' Zaharius, Rickie Fowler, Bernard Gallagher and our very own Catriona Matthew. Gullane boasts three tremendous championship links courses and is especially proud to have hosted the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open in 2015, which we will do so again in 2018 (as well as the Ladies Scottish Open). Not only does Gullane Golf Club have three outstanding, traditional links, it also has two superb clubhouses, a driving range, short game practice area, various putting greens and also a children's golf course, which is free for all kids to use. This truly is golfing paradise and I am very proud to be part of it.My nearly three decades of customer facing experience combined with my relentless enthusiasm for golf serve me incredibly well in this role and I like to work collaboratively with all colleagues from the Secretary and Captain down to provide a joined up service, all of which is geared to giving members and guests the best possible golfing experiences. My prime responsibility specifically was to partner the Asset Finance business (comprising circa 2,000 colleagues) to ensure their Reward issues were managed as effectively as possible.Prime focus was on the effective oversight and structure of sales incentive plans cognisant with the regulatory focus on this area and balancing the alignment of customer needs and the commercial strategy of the business with individual compensation that is reflective of the market. Customer service and conduct risk was at the heart of these incentive plans, to ensure this is the case I drove detailed reviews with Risk colleagues and various senior stakeholders in LBG, from AF, Group Risk and ultimately to Senior Governance Committees to demonstrate that AF incentives were fully compliant with Group and FSA Principles. My other AFCOO responsibilities ranged from managing the annual pay and bonus process (which included, amongst many other aspects, oversight of bonus accruals and end reporting on spend v budget, as well as addressing data issues as they arose) to the governance of all other reward matters including approval of exceptional out-of-cycle salary increases, where appropriate. At divisional level I was Secretary for the Commercial Banking Remuneration Committee, chaired by the division's Managing Director. One facet of this role required me to produce the annual performance adjustment (deferred bonus clawback) report, which again involved engaging and challenging senior stakeholders across Commercial Banking and the Control Functions. I was also Commercial Banking and Asset Finance's rep to Group HR on colleague recognition, a subject I am passionate about. I like to get involved where I can in other Reward specific or Group wide projects, as they arise. Show less
