We are all about Creating Financial Sense for our clients. I have been in financial services for over 10 years now. Originally starting as an apprentice with Lloyds Banking Group before moving over to Nationwide Building Society to help launch their flagship operation Nationwide NOW. From there, I set up my own business in partnership with The Mortgage Finance Store where I spent 5 excellent and successful years. I gained a vast amount of experience and education from their three charismatic directors, James Rice, Mike Connely and Jamie Boyle. This was my first taste of financial planning where I wanted to help the clients overall financial position and not just their mortgage. This is what led me to St James’s Place. I was selected for their prestigious academy where I was put through their rigorous program which included my exams and adviser training. I help my clients with with goals based financial planning. This is using financial products such as pensions, insurance, ISA’s, investments to achieve their financial goals, aspirations and objectives. Most importantly, breaking down to make sure a client understands what they have and that it makes financial sense. Now, that’s what I do. Now, let me tell you WHY I do what I do. It goes all the way back to my childhood holidays up in Pitlochry. We would go camping here almost every year whenever we got the opportunity. The area was used by the RAF for training missions due to the surrounding valleys and hills. Me and my brother Calum would watch in amazement at the high speed and change of direction of these jets. The booming sound that rippled through the valley was incredible! It was from this moment that we both decided that when we grow up we wanted to be pilots. Turns out I can’t see colours or just see very well in general. Not good attributes for a pilot! The dream for Calum was very much still on. He wanted to join the RAF as an officer once he finished uni. Unfortunately, we lost Calum after his 22nd Birthday. So, in a cruel way my purpose was handed to me, I just needed to figure it out. I have seen how devastating lack of financial planning can be and the impact it has. My purpose is to ensure that no one or no family has to go through what we did by having a proper financial plan in place, but more importantly achieving whatever they want in life by CREATING FINANCIAL SENSE in a world where it can get so overwhelming. I work with my clients to help them find their purpose, their inner why. So if that is retiring early to travel the world or living your best life, let’s plan it!
