I was employed as a Structural Drafter working within the Building Structures Team.Major Projects:• Peninsula Link Freeway – 27 kilometres of new freeway from Frankston to Mt Martha: Structural Drafter, Scope was 4 lanes each way with provision for future rail in the median strip. Primary work included design and documentation of the drainage culverts, sounds barriers, animal crossings, light spill walls, over head gantry works, and off structure crash barriers.• Department of Transport – New train station – Coolaroo Station: Lead Drafter, Primary work included 3 platforms, pedestrian footbridge which spanned all three platforms, elevator shafts and amenities building• Department of Defence – Swan Island Army Training Base Re-Development: Supervisory Lead Drafter, Primary work on this project consisted of timber framing, large steel portal frames and other pre-cast structures. • Department of Defence – Pukapunyal Army Base Redevelopment: Supervisory Lead Drafter, Primary work included extensive timber framing, precast concrete structures and new steel frame structures. • Department of Defence – Defence Force School of Signalling, Watsonia:Primary work included post tensioning floors and other precast elements.• Department of Transport – Kew Tram Depot - floor lowering: Lead Drafter – Primary work involved lowering the tram parking floor by 1500mm to allow easier access to underside of trams for maintenance• Department of Transport – Craigieburn Rail, Train Wash Facility: Lead Drafter – Primary work included design of a large portal frame structure (housing a six carriage train) which incorporated Architectural features. • PPP Schools Project – 10 new schools in outer Melbourne areas: Lead Drafter – Primary work included delegating work; consisting of timber framing and large steel portal frame structures.
