I am currently a Suicide Data Analyst at the Serious Mental Illness Treatment Resource and Evaluation Center (SMITREC), a resource evaluation center in the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in biostatistics from the University of Michigan. I am working on multiple projects evaluating suicide causes, reporting, and prevention among U.S. Veterans, including a pilot program to facilitate outreach to prior but not recent Veteran VHA users who are at high risk of suicide. I am also SMITREC's data analyst point person for REACH VET, a VA program that uses a predictive model to identify and provide outreach to VHA users in the top 0.1% risk tier for suicide. I have broad statistical experience, including with survival analysis, generalized linear models, longitudinal models, and variable selection.
