I developed and continue to teach a 2-term sequence in Numerical Analysis for Master's students in the Math Department. The two classes cover both theory and practice of Numerical Analysis. Precisive Instruments was bought by MKS Instruments in May 2015. I left MKS on my own initiative at the end of Oct 2016 to pursue other opportunities. While there I worked on the following (amongst other projects):* Develop and support electronic subsystems for a gas spectroscopy system.* Detailed system design (particularly architecture, electronics and software) for new spectroscopic instruments.* Board-level electronic design to support Precisive's product portfolio. PCB design of optical preamps, as well as system board controlling entire system.* Systems engineering for Precisive's spectroscopic instruments.* Write and maintain embedded software controlling instrument (C running on ARM. IAR dev environment).* Transition of system build to contract manufacturer. Interactive Supercomputing was purchased by Microsoft in 2009. I left Microsoft on my own initiative in May 2013 to work at Precisive Instruments. (I was a member of the team which eventually developed Azure ML.)* Defined and wrote math and linear algebra function tests in C++ and C# (for Microsoft Cloud Numerics).* Help maintained test framework (C++/C#).* Wrote specifications for math and linear algebra function implementations used in Cloud Numerics.* Wrote specifications and design documents governing system testing and mathematical accuracy of product (Cloud Numerics).* Wrote article for MSDN magazine documenting our test methodology.
