I’m Stuart Brown, director and head of technical and compliance at one of the largest independent firms of accountants and business advisers in the East Midlands, Duncan & Toplis.With a network of offices across the region, Duncan & Toplis offers a full range of services to small, medium and large-sized businesses in the UK and overseas.I am an FCA qualified chartered accountant with more than 10 years of practical accounting and audit experience.In my current role, I lead the technical developments for Duncan & Toplis. This covers audit, financial reporting and maintaining quality of work. I also use the tools and skills learned during my Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification to continuously improve our processes.I have recently been appointed to Duncan & Toplis’ operations board and become a member of the ICAEW’s influential Ethics Advisory Committee.
