Project to support, maintain and improve Barclays secure payments systems using a combination of Connect:Direct and MQ based on Unix (Solaris and AIX) Z/OS and Windows servers.Key projects and achievements:Document installation procedures for Connect:Direct and Secure+ on Unix and Windows platforms;Production of transfer scripts on Unix and Windows platforms and integrate into Tivoli and Unix cron;Production of scripts for general Connect:Direct functions and use of File Agent for automation;

Project based contract to produce technical architecture definitions for projects including aSAP migration from HP-UX and Solaris servers to Fujitsu PrimePower 1500 servers within aVeritas Cluster Server configuration. Other environments included AIX and HP-UX.Key projects and achievements:Server builds for PrimePower 250,450,1500 and Sun servers with Veritas SF, VCS and NetBackup;Architecture design and implementation with organising of quotations and engineers;End to end documentation for Operating System, Hardware systems and processes;Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance for server, applications and processes;Other environments included Bull AIX and HP-UX environments.

Solaris Systems AdministrationBAU and project support within a large 24x7 Solaris and AIX 500+ server environment using Veritas VxVM, Veritas VxFS, Veritas Cluster Server (VCS), HACMP and Sun Cluster (SC).Key projects and achievements:Migration of SF15K domains to SFV210 servers; SF6800 upgrades;Connected majority of Solaris servers to remote consoles enabling on-call support;Installation of Connect:Direct, Apache, Websphere and Abinitio environments;EMC PowerPath installation and patching on Solaris and AIX servers;HACMP error and fix, APAR IY89236; Sun SF6800 SC bugs 6567546, 6585200, Sun Alert 102986;Server builds using JET.

Worked with Sun professional services on Barnwood site on the upgrade programme for Document Management, NetBackup and trading systems using Solaris servers with Solaris 9, Sun Cluster, Oracle, Apache and StorEdge 3xxx external storage.

BAU and project work within a Solaris and EMC storage environment.Key projects and achievements: Replace batch processing system on E10K domains with Sun Fire E4900 servers. This produced a 50% fall in nightly and monthly batch processing times;Solaris and RedHat systems administration on Solaris 2.6 to 10 platforms;Solaris 10 containers / zones proof of concept using Apache;NetBackup firewall configuration and upgrade from v4.5 to v5.0, EMC SAN maintenance.

Supporting various systems including EBS Trader application within a strict 24x7 environment.Key projects and achievements:Solaris 8 and Red Hat v7 Systems Administration, Veritas Volume Manager (v3.5), Sun DiskSuite;

A project to initially support and improve Barclays Capital batch payments processing system called Bulkfile that currently required three full time support personnel due to the various problems associated with interfaces with other financial products such as SOLD, AFTS and Nostro.The final deliverable did not require any full time support.Key projects and achievements:Unix shell scripting for application and system improvements and modifications;AIX 4.3, Solaris, HP-UX 11, NT 4, Tivoli, Oracle 7/8, SQL, MQ (v5.1), Connect:Direct.

Installation of secure file transfers within a mission critical internet banking environment. Key projects / achievements:Korn, Perl, Expect/Tcl scripts using SSH, HiPortfolio, Tivoli/Maestro, Connect:Direct, Secure+;Internal Systems and banking procedures were required for ISO17799 standardisation.

Audit of Unix based systems with improved backup procedures and monitoring using HP OpenView.

Installation and the support of servers using Veritas NetBackup, NIS and NFS.

A strict 24x7 SLA dominated environment comprising of 300+ Unix servers being a mixture of Solaris, Redhat, HP-UX Sequent and AIX.
