Stuart Clark Work Experience Details
  • Global
    Head Of Devops
    Global Jun 2019 - Present
    London, Gb
  • Sg Digital (Division Of Scientific Games Corporation)
    Technical Operations Manager (Sportsbook)
Sg Digital (Division Of Scientific Games Corporation) May 2018 - Jun 2019
    Las Vegas, Nevada, Us
Using the experience gained running the support department I was asked to build a new operations team to run the newly created managed sportsbook offering that SG Digital began, after its purchase of OpenBet. Based in London and Chicago I built a small 24/7 team of DevOps professionals, with experience in both system operations and software development. Working closely with other teams across the organisation we successfully launched the first customer on the platform in the Summer of 2018. The team works closely with the global support department as well as the change management team to ensure the platform is carefully monitored (using Prometheus), supported and regularly upgraded.
  • Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group)
    Devops Manager
Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group) Jan 2018 - May 2018
  • Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group)
Head Of Global Support & Operational Excellence
Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group) May 2017 - Dec 2017
I took on the responsibility for the 40 strong global support team, in addition to my role in heading the Operational Excellence team. The support team operated a follow-the-sun working style across 5 main global locations, working closely with customer business and operations teams to ensure the smooth running of the OpenBet software. As the most senior member of the support department, I would run regular client meetings to review support performance, as well as being involved with critical high profile support incidents.
  • Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group)
    Development Manager
Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group) Aug 2016 - May 2017
After returning from Ireland I took over the management of the key internal product development team, helping it to expand within the London and Athens offices. Additionally, I established a small Operational Excellence team, tasked with working across the organisation to improve development practises and introduce new technologies. Projects included working with one large client on a cloud (AWS) proof of concept and introducing Docker to the company for development and automated testing.
  • Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group)
    Development Lead
Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group) Jul 2015 - Aug 2016
  • Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group)
    Technical Lead
Openbet Ltd (Part Of Nyx Gaming Group) Jan 2013 - Jun 2015
I worked on a 30 strong customer development team, focusing on work with a large multinational client. In addition to technical leadership on the team, I was responsible for pastoral line management of a number of the developers, working with the rest of the management team to ensure day-to-day processes work effectively and longer-term strategy is implemented. During my time on the team, I was heavily involved in the move from a waterfall project workflow to a multi-company cross-location agile lean Kanban development lifecycle. I was also a key contributor to cross-company transformational projects including implementation of Continuous Integration / Deployment and the move to the Git distributed version control system, a project I led. During the final 15 months in this role, I was embedded at the client's head office in Ireland, liaising constantly with contacts across the organisation at multiple levels, as well as global staff within OpenBet.
  • Flixmedia
    Head Of Technology
    Flixmedia May 2012 - Nov 2012
    London, Gb
After finishing at 80:20 Digital I was invited to return to Flixmedia for a short period to help with the restructuring of the Technology Department. This involved both changes to resourcing and procedure as well as changes to the technical infrastructure. During my time with Flixmedia I have successfully managed the migration of all externally facing servers to a new highly redundant setup, the implementation of the Gearman job queue system and the ongoing development of the PHP/Zend content storage system and Pentaho BI reporting system. Additionally I have overseen the successful on-boarding of an Indian based external development team as well as the merger of the Devlopment and Syndication departments within the company.
  • 80:20 Digital
    Head Of Development
    80:20 Digital Oct 2011 - May 2012
I joined 80:20 Digital for 8 months to assist with the ramping up of the development team due to an expected major contract. Unfortunately this contract failed to materialise, so I spent my time working with the existing staff on their existing agency-based work as well as assisting the sales team with proof of concept and technical documentation for new possibilities. During my time at 80:20 Digital I worked on both PHP based projects, Adobe Flash projects (using ActionScript 3) and mobile projects (iPad and Android based).
  • Flixmedia
    Technical Manager
    Flixmedia Aug 2010 - Oct 2011
    London, Gb
I joined Flixmedia to develop and lead the technical function within the business, successfully recruiting and managing a team of PHP developers, HTML designers and system administrators. As well as designing and assisting with the development of new products and solutions, a key part of my role has been communicating with the wider business and the end client to ensure we are delivering what is needed, to budget and within acceptable time-frames. This involved working with clients including Intel, Microsoft, Philips, Best Buy and Argos within EMEA, the US and globally, as well as being part of the team who won & run a large global contract with HP.

This included the delivery of the company's strategic objectives, as well as maintaining all existing internal and client facing systems. As a result I worked closely with the other departments and sat on the management committee. I was responsible for the recruitment of IT staff & contractors as well as creating and maintaining relationships with suppliers. Being a small team I was also actively involved with development and system support.
  • Asset Tv

In this role I had to regularly liaise with client IT departments, ranging from small companies with outsourced IT up to multinational financial institutions, as well as acting as internal support and external 2nd line support.
