Achievements Project managed the development of a single safety management system for Boral Australian operations. Ensuring not only legislative compliance but systems compliant to AS4801/4, OSHAS18001, SA Performance Standards for Self Insurers, National Self Insurer Audit Tool and Office of Federal Safety Commissioner requirements. Developed and co-ordinated OHS programs and reporting systems in South Australia. Achieving Level 3 Self Insurance (only 1 of 5 companies to be granted this level). Winner in Boral Awards for Safety Excellence 2010 for South Australian Self Insurance achievement.  Last Group Auditing campaign identified excess of 3000 latent workplace hazards and system failures (now managing to complete via the corporate CTS database). Reviewed post fatality corrective actions in China Joint Venture operations.  Coordinated auditing of Mine Safety compliance and national “Chain of Responsibility” transport safety reforms.

Responsibilities To coach and assist line managers in improving the safety of the 3 businesses across Victoria & NSW in the Clay & Concrete Operations: Bricks (3 sites), Masonry (2 sites), Roofing (1 site + Contract Roof Tiling) As well as projects for the national group. Manage the WorkCover/Rehab-Coordinator in the management of rehabilitation programs for injured workers (Vic & NSW). Provide guidance and assist others in developing internal Safety & Environmental Management systems Coordinate and collate reporting of corporate injury, environmental & risk statistics. Determine needs and implement training programs for staff and contractors. Audit and inspection of safety management systems, including AS4801.Achievements Exceeded Stretch Target for KPI’s (KPI’s included: Non-Injury Reporting Rate, Hazard Reduction, Safety Plan completion, Recordable Case Frequency Rate, Positive Performance Indicator test, Lost Time Frequency Rate, % Lost Hours, GM advisory meetings, BSDT Coordination and planning, Development of National Safe Work Method Statements for Roof Contracting). Reduced Recordable Case and Lost Time Frequency rate, % Hours lost, Workers Comp claims costs across all 5 sites. Achieved milestones of 12 Years LTI free aggregate across the 5 sites through safety improvements and injury management.Reduced new claims cost across all 5 sites, most notable the Industry Performance Rate for Bricks Vic has reduced from 0.939 (2004) to 0.5 (2006).  Increased scores from the externally audited Boral Best Practice Elements Safety Management System by up to 72%. Exceeded Boral Corporate Sustainability target across the 3 businesses achieving industry best practice.Developed a National OH&S Manual for Contract Roof Tiling. Developed On-line induction and Training packages for the National Group. Assisted in submissions for draft National Code of Practice for falls in the construction industry.

Responsibilities To coach and assist line managers in improving the safety of both the national contract roof tiling business and the NSW sales operations.  Develop and coordinate workplace safety audits and inspections. Determine and implement training programs for staff and contractors. Coordination and development of injury management and Workers Compensation rehabilitation programs for injured workers. Achievements Implemented a national tiling contractor safety inspection that consistently exceeding 96% compliance in excess of 400 contract tilers over east coast Australia. Contractor injury reporting and recording improved significantly in the national contracting arm of New Residential Sales. Industry leading safety awareness of contract roof tilers. Worked with local and interstate Roof Tiling Associations and government regulators on safety programs.
