I am a passionate Musician and Music Educator with experience working in the Music Industry for 22 years. My areas of specialisation include:Performance musician - primarily a brass player, skilled on many other instruments, able to play most to greater and lesser degrees. Performed with pro and semi-pro groups across the country in many styles and ensembles. Specialised in jazz, and contemporary styles and marching bands.Audio/lighting Tech - experience designing and running live sound and lighting for bands and productions from clubs to mid-sized theatre, teaching VET Cert II and III Music (Tech production) and IV Music (Sound production), recording school bands live and in the studio, management and upkeep of theatre and recording studioMusical direction - Completed Jerry Nowak Summer Conducting School in Sydney twice and invited back as assistant conductor the following year. I have years of experience conducting wind ensembles at junior, intermediate and senior school levels as well as adult amateur and professional level. Current MD for the Itchyfeet Pep Band with recent experience performing for the Melbourne Stars, Hawthorn FC and Geelong FC match seasons.Classroom teaching - 12 years of experience teaching classroom music, successful at engaging students at their level and setting appropriate challenges. I believe strongly in a music program that is heavily practical and engages students. Taught at all year levels from 7 - 12 including both VCE and VET level qualifications. Strong at curriculum design at all levels.Instrumental teaching - 22 years of instrumental tuition experience, able to teach all brass to VCE level.Arranging, orchestration, composition, and production - able to score for both large and small groups and anywhere in between, modify existing arrangements to suit the strengths of the ensemble, writing from scratch, and working with both live musicians and studio production to produce results.
