Since completing my BEng Hons Degree In Mechanical Engineering, I have continued my interest in robotics after discovering that automation was going to play an important role in the new industrial 4.0 strategy for the future. I decided to return to further study to complete an MSc in Mechatronics and Automation to understand more about the robotics industry and how automation has and can play an important role in the future of automation whether it be in devices or the industrial sector.After graduating from the University of Strathclyde, I was given an opportunity to immerse myself in a project which involved building two prototypes from a group project that was previously completed during my Masters at the University of Strathclyde. I was developing the product to include automated features that would help in controlling a motor for movement and using a microcontroller to turn the movement on and off. From previous experience of creating an assembly sheet for parts being put together. I was able to create an instruction sheet for the operation of the devices. The project came to a successful conclusion with two prototypes being manufactured and assembled for the university. An updated file was provided to the university with the design changes for the product that happened during the project.The area of Mechatronics and Automation remains a passion that I want to continue into the future within a company that has this passion as well. When it comes to learning and understanding of mechatronics and automation, there is certainly more to learn and understand. I wish to continue to learn and understand about automation through communicating and learning from others within this field.While passionate about Mechatronics and Automation, I do enjoy creating new ideas and designing them to solve some of the biggest problems which are seen by everyone today. And improving my language skills for french by learning more vocabulary.
