Leading the shift maintenance team carrying out scheduled maintenance as well as responding to break downs at RTIO Dampier port operations. Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe manner and mentoring my team to build a strong safety culture and instill the values that build not only personal safety but also looking after the well being of those around you. Liasing heavily with plant operations to ensure they are kept informed of the condition of the plant but also how I can carry our maintenance with the least amount of impact on production targets. Keeping operations supervisor and the maintenance superintendent fully informed of timelines and progress during break down situations and pooling the correct resources as required to assist in these situations.

As Brockman 4 was a new mine I set up systems and procedures to exucute plant shutdowns in a safe and timely manner from the get go. This involved everything from establishing and standardising work packs, creating all of the confined space rescue plans for the site, setting up the shutdowns infrastructure ie: crib rooms, offices, toilets,tool store and rigging container etc, establishing a shut laydown yard so all parts could be layed out in clearly demarcated locations so contractors could easily identify and collect their parts during the shutdown and developing safe systems of work to ensure that safety was paramount at all times. Building solid and trustworthy realationships with all contractors coming to site and providing them with the support they required to execute all of the planned tasks in a safe and timely manner. Direct supervision of two shutdown coordinators and a shutdown support officer. Acting fixed plant maintenance and operations superintendent whilst my superintendent was off site and seconded to the role on a permamnent basis for a period of six months.

Involved in the commisioning of the new fixed plant crushing, screening, stacking and reclaiming/train load out facility at Brockman 4. Once the plant was fully commisioned I was then involved in the day to day scheduled maintenance as well as dealing with break downs as they arose. Was only in this role for a period of ten months when I was approached by my superintendent to assist with the scheduled plant shutdowns which lead to me taking on the role as the shutdown supervisor.
