Recruited to create a strategic, centralised procurement function for the largest housing association in the UK with turnover of over £600m, 11k staff and 100k properties. Responsible for a team of 18 procurement professionals influencing a spend of c£380m. Having centralised procurement in 2011 I am proud to say the team have delivered significant bottom line benefits and service enhancements year on year through exceptional levels of service in support of business objectives.

Recruited, developed and motivated team of 6, supporting 13 business units across £150m of spend. Led team to exceed stretching savings targets in both first and second years of operation and on target for third year. As owner of the divisional procurement strategy and member of the Group Procurement senior management team I was the senior sponsor of procurement amongst the Divisional Managing Director community and their direct reports.

Responsible for developing and executing Category Strategies across a £59m MRO &FM spend. Developed European Category Strategies for MRO Parts and Services and was responsible for influencing networks of Key Stakeholders to drive contract compliance.

Responsible for leading and developing a team of 5, supporting 12 manufacturing sites across GB&I exceeding PPV targets in each year. Country Unit lead for Ingredients Value Optimisation initiatives and provided steering on Supply Chain issues for brand development initiatives.

Completed an international assignment based in the Head Office of Schweppes’ Americas Beverages business tasked with re-engaging stakeholders in Dallas, New York and Toronto, re-building function credibility and developing category strategies for POS Print, Premia and Fulfilment. Total spend c. $25m.

As senior Buyer for Facilities and General Services managed team of 6, across 2 head offices and spend of £80m. Key activities included recruitment of staff, building and motivating a new team towards ambitious savings targets and achieving own targets in given commodity areas. Key category activities included car fleet outsourcing, business travel in-sourcing, desktop outsourcing, procurement card implementation, store refurbishment ITT.

Held a variety of Procurement positions within Engineering & Maintenance focussing on engineering services and aircraft spares. Promoted twice into team leadership roles, eventually leading an Engineering Contracts team comprising 3 Team Leaders and 15 Buyers. Key activities included strategy development, staff motivation, profiling the department’s role, contract and supplier management, setting and controlling DOC and overhead budgets and performing staff appraisals.
