Various RolesPercy Dalton'S Jun 1988 - Jun 2009Bow, East London Then Haverhill, SuffolkPercy Dalton's was a family owned and run business founded in the 1940's. From small beginnings as a market trader in Spitalfields, London, it grew to become a major supplier of nuts & dried fruit products to the UK's major retailers as well as exporting products worldwide.I gained experience in a wide range of roles within the company including administration, production, sales, export, logistics and operations before progressing to senior management level. From 1999 I took on the role of Logistics Manager, reporting to the board and responsible for overseeing all aspects of supply chain management.• This encompassed logistics, warehousing and distribution, requiring a broad knowledge and skill base• Devised and implemented a range of operational procedures to improve efficiency and output, reviewing and adapting these as the business grew• Managed a team of 13, (some performance management) including a stock controller, administrators, warehouse operatives and 4 drivers• Also provided strategic input into other areas of the business to assist in business development The business was based in East London and steadily grew to the point where our premises due to their layout could not be developed / expanded in line with the increased output and customer demand. Therefore, for several years we looked for a suitable site to purpose build a larger, 'all in one' facility culminating in our move to Haverhill, Suffolk.During this time, as Logistics Manager, I consistently delivered beyond target on all KPIs, including inbound service levels and warehouse accuracy contributing to the organisation increasing turnover from approx. £24M to £36M within the first six years in this role.
