As a Ph.D. candidate in Rhetoric of Science & Technical Communication at the University of Minnesota, I have a strong background in environmental communication and writing pedagogy. I teach First Year Writing and conduct research on environmental communication and policy. Before pursuing my Ph.D., I worked in art museums, working on education and engagement. This experience taught me the importance of sensitive, engaged, and creative communication when working with diverse audiences. My research focuses on the role of public comment in the policy-making process, specializing in clean energy projects. Through this work, I have gained valuable insights into how people engage with government decision-making processes, and how policymakers can speed up the clean energy transition through streamlining permitting processes.
